Words I Left Behind

I can’t get my real thoughts past these lips.
Break the gate down.
Can’t kill the guard,
Without losing myself
My own mind serves as my own worst enemy,
Guarding the cellblock of my mind.
Sneak words out without thinking?
Or I end up censoring my thoughts,
I won’t allow them through.

Break through these lips.
Bite them,
Break the skin,
Watch them bleed.

“Penny for your thoughts?”
“If you’re going to bribe the guard, you’ll need more money.”

Break these words out
Before I go completely mad.
