Words

So I hear,
“actions speak louder than words,”
but do they?

I can’t hear those actions
If they don’t speak to me,
maybe my volume is turned down.

I am as blind to what I don’t see,
as I am deaf to what I cannot hear.
I would rather listen and know,
than be guessing with a glimpse.

“Easier said than done,” or
easier done than said?
What’s in your heart can’t always be worn on your sleeve,

so it’s left to dwell on the end of your
tongue.

How can you be willing to stumble over your feet,

but not over your own words?
Just remember,
your hands can’t tell me what your
mouth can.

I’ve told you darling,
your words are just thoughts until they’re spoken,
and there is no meaning
unless the quiet is broken.

So speak,
tell me what I need to know,
because I would rather hear the music,
than to be left dancing with silence.
