Wishing Well

Coins glisten in the light,
What a pretty sight.
Fountains full of wishes and dreams,
Underneath the water, they twinkle and gleam.
High hopes of ideal careers,
Or to venture out to new frontiers.
Ambitions of castles in the air,
Or an answer to your prayers.
Longings for a family of your own
Or not to be left alone.
With just a toss of a penny,
The wish becomes one of many.
So much faith in the spell
Of an old wishing well.
