The Potter

I am aware of this body of mine,
All the while slipping through unending time.

Held here by chains I was bound long ago,
Helplessly hoping that somehow you’d know.

You watch me in silence and I feel you near,
Constantly with me, even in fear.

You’ve placed upon me, my cross that I bear,
Even through tragedy I know you care.

Always perfecting the work from the start,
Like clay to the Potter, Im your work of art.

So mold me and shape me with your loving hands,
Make me into something I can understand.

  1. Mallory this is so meaningful and lovely, shows heart in the deepest places…perhaps it was written for such a time as this just for our Julie!
    Love you

    • Yes Aunt Jan, perhaps it was. It came to me one night while I was sitting on the couch. The words started forming in my head and I scribbled them down. I didn’t change a thing. 🙂
