Imagination

Staring up at the ceiling,
or the pillow or the back of your eyelids,
and drowsiness washed over your body.
Your own voice echoes in your mind,
reliving everything that has happened today,
and making decisions for things to come.
Tired,
but alert.
Awake,
but falling fast,
into to a world where you have little control.
It makes you nervous and uncomfortable,
because you know that the dreams in your mind,
are not your own, but your imagination’s.
It knows no boundaries, and has no conscience.
Our imagination has the ability to reshape our mind.
In our younger years our imagination,
was controlled by us.
We decided when to be creative, artistic, and innovative.
That was a time when our minds,
thought that anything was possible.
While growing older we and society,
push imagination out of our conscious mind.
Where else is it to go but in our dreams.
There, imagination rules your mind.
It has the power to steal your confidence,
destroy your aspirations,
and ultimately erase your personality.
So as you drift off into unconsciousness,
your mind takes over and you get ready,
For the ride of your life.
This ride called imagination.
