The freckles on my face you say, bring out the colour in my eyes;
Supposedly brown, mother says but you see red.
I should have known.
“They’re Crimson, sweetheart. Not brown.”
You look for anger.
You look for problems and you make me angry.
You give me problems and you try to fix them.
You walk the streets and you kick stones. You stamp in puddles and you untie dogs from lampposts.
You are like he who first walked through the garden of Eden;
You are he.
