Sword

The fog lifts stubbornly in this part of the land
It is never really gone
The remnants remain in your mind
Who will you be today – or what?
Never mind
Brew the coffee – the dark roast
And move both feet
The fleeting time calls
But hope lies in every button
Merlin will point you to a stone

Do you think it could be the best new poem in 2013?

  1. Excellent poem. Strong imagery and nice build up to the last line. Avoids the wash of sentimentality too often coloring much work. Very nice.

  2. I agree with everything Tim said; very nice! It’s one of those simple-yet-powerful poems that tend to be my favorites.
