Sometimes Good Things Fall Apart So Better Things Can Come Together

Strands of hope are hard to find
all woven in the threads of
worry and frustration.
Detachment of our former selves
to find the soul
we waited to find.
We searched,
we searched long;
We found.
But not for long.
Now it’s gone.

Lost amid the muddy colors
of a tapestry where love meets pain,
we find we’re striving for impossible
too hard we try to measure that love
all hidden in the rain.

To let go,
I said before,
but only of the right things.
Ringing in our ears
is the promise of it all made right.

And I watched him burn far away into light,
and she followed, watching black morph into night.
A night darkest just before the dawn.

Them.
What will morning
hold?

Me.
What will morning
hold?

And you taught me what this feels like.
And then how it feels to lose this.

Please let me walk away now.
