Safe

I lay asleep afraid at night,
Afraid of shadows from the moonlight.

I see a ghost lurking around,
Then I hear a growling sound.

I run to my daddy to relieve me of fear;
I feel safer with him so near.

I cry in his arms.
He keeps me safe from all harms.

He tells me nothing will get me.
He kisses my cheek as I sit on his knee.

He rocks me to sleep,
And puts me down when I don’t make a peep.

I hear a whisper in my ear,
“I’ll love you and protect you my beautiful dear.”
