Red Is The Color

Red is the color, a sunrise above,
That left my heart beat-less, hopeless, and in love,
Red is the color, a silence in rage,
It left my hands feeble, frail, dismayed,
She carried the lantern upon a dark road,
She kept by her promise, warmth in the cold,
Now my still heart is drowned by this passion,
While I now feel this bleeding reaction,
Her spirit did leave, as clouds covered dawn,
She drifted so slowly, a moment so long,
As she lay reaching, she shivered, she cried,
I lived in her pain, and I demanded to know why,
A dark wall of danger, she felt she could climb,
With wounds left so fatal, it meant it was time,
They acted so vile, they forced out her soul,
They ripped out my heart for silver and gold,
“I can not go on” I stuttered to speak,
“I won’t let you go, my heart is too weak”
So then she departed under a sunrise above,
Then I realized, Red is the colorÂ… that showed me how to love
