Rain On The Barn

The rain hits the barn,

so hard.

the sound wakes me

as a beautiful tune,

ringing loud.

the pitter-patter sounds

on the rooftop

drop like chimes,

and dog paws.

the cool misty air,

flows through me.

the shades of darkness,

slide by.

hours of peace

envelop me.

making my soul fresh.

the next day

I do not notice

the rain has left.
