Rags and Flags

The rags and flags are just colors,
because we’ve nothing left to stand for.
The scars just reminders,
that we want to feel something more.

The highs are just reminders,
that the rest of the world wants to keep us low.
We rebel against authority,
because we’re forced to conform to their flow.

We scream expletives aloud,
because our charity is ignored.
We war it out in the streets,
because we know corruption’s already in store.

I mean, what’s there to fight for?
When everyone’s killing already?
We’re already extorted,
do we really want it to reach our core?

Please, please, it won’t be long.
Keep it up, keep going.
for our sake,
please hold on.
