New Hope

A cloud of majesty, a refining fire, a clock and a vision and a thorn…
I knew not of where I was going, except that I felt a new hope being born.
Pages turning, poets birthing,
A song arose as a prose and a hymn…
I heard a lot of interpretations of the times,
but nothing settled for me within.
Dancers bowing to a throne,
everlasting joy on their faces shone,
And in the mist of the audience still;
An empty space being filled?
A surge of energy a girl feels, shuffles out and sprints through a field!
A chamber to which she will run, The Door opens, for her it flung,
She fell at her knees to The Son… then
The door was shut and the lamps were lit
On a daughters heart, this was writ
“I am yours and you are mine, the love we have does not die…
With oil in your hand, as a warrior aflame,
You ran to find the Lord unchanged!”

Todays poetry contest submission was written by Kimberly Strmac Smith.

Do you think it could possibly be one of the best new poems of 2014?
