Locket

Locket hanging round my neck
My tiny metal heart
Will not be closed and remain so
Resisting in defiance
Such is my spirit
Which refuses to give in
And forget what it had found
Even if so fleetingly, but true

Locket hanging round my neck
My tiny metal heart
Will not be closed
But fervently open remains
Until you return
And keep it locked in safe embrace
Once more.
