Light Drowning

Breathing in, water
My lungs burn, far away
The sun is setting.

My survival skills,
Nothing against the ocean
Feel so small, I am.

Today’s sun set will
End the day, today’ sun set
Will be the last I see.

How beautiful the
Setting sun, I never knew
How helpless, humans

Long for some solid;
To rest my wasted body,
To breathe in air, dry.

Slowly the light drowns
Close my eyes, breathing in death
Life evanescing.
