It’s just another day unchanged,
She closes her eyes to see his face.
Maybe this will be the day she repeats in her head.
Hoping that today would be different,
Yet knowing it wouldn’t change.
Remembering the things she wished she could forget,
And forgetting the things that give her comfort.
Hearing his voice that brings a smile to her face,
Then looking up to see nothing there.
Sitting by the phone wishing for news,
another day of wondering brings nothing.
Once again, she goes to bed alone.
It’s just another day again,
She opens her eyes to see the empty bed beside her.
Maybe this will be the call she thinks,
Jumping out of bed to answer her phone.
Hoping that this would be the change.
Remembering the things she had before,
Slowly forgetting the things she thought she loved.
Hearing his voice brings a smile to her face,
Then looking up to see what was there.
Falling to her knees with tears in her eyes,
The many days of wondering have finally ceased.
