From Where I Stand

From where I stand, people are moving quickly while I stand still;
From where I stand, my body will not obey no matter how hard it I will;
From where I stand, I feel all alone and only a few seem to understand;
From where I stand, I will never see closure; I wasn’t there at the end.
From where I stand, joy and laughter are enough to surpass the sadness;
From where I stand, I see your smiling face; it brings me great gladness;
From where I stand, God gave me time with a lovely angel on this Earth;
From where I stand, He was ready to bring you home and relieve your hurt.
From where I stand, you spread love and lessons to all those that you met;
From where I stand, you left this life with not a single regret;
From where I stand, you will always be my sister, my life-long friend;
From where I stand, I will love you forever way past the ‘end.’
