For This Revolution

Shackled and depleted
Some stay, some retreated
We are the soldiers of this revolution
And we will not be defeated
Hated and debated
Our very existence is agitated
As the masses become aggravated
Foundations become unfabricated
Dilapidated millions
A working class of tender hearted civilians
Depressed and recessed by a debt amounting to trillions
They demand a vote for a leader who understands our reasons
But we are not understood
Misinterpreted, but educated enough to know that rebellion is our only way to reason
Considered acts of treason
We stand against an incorporated
And unjust legion
Region by region we band together as associative brothers that will no longer accept appeasement
We will rise, we will fight
We will make a final and everlasting stand during this season
Our time has come
To the hungry masses and the bums, those exploited by the rich and forced into uncontrolled and intolerable slums
Stand up and stand firm
Plant your feet oh so deep into the brownish red blood stained soil of turmoil filled with filthy black gold deposits called petroleum oil
Exercise your right to freedom and watch the establishment crumble as if it were made of foil
We are the shackled and depleted
We stayed while others retreated
We are the soldiers of this revolution
And we will not be defeated

Todays poetry contest submission was written by Ray.

Do you think it could be the best new poem in 2013?
