Fake Reality

working hard to not work at all
slowly crawling at a constant fall
soundlessly breathing at the fear
shying away as it gets too near
get out get out get out!
‘move on to better things’
whispered words through cut-neck throats
is all it ever seems
that’s not real
it’s too unclear
reality is in my head
fiction breeds in innocence
like wheat’s ingrained in bread
sheltered deep and ravenous
my wings take flight in dreams
hidden away from prying eyes
knotting their invisible strings
tying each and every path
so it doesn’t have a chance to crash
flight and fight and flight again
waiting for this phase to end
