“You’re beautiful”, they say
but do they understand?
How the scale screams at me
it has the upperhand.

The numbers climb by several
They say the scale won’t lie
but counting every meal each day
won’t stop the tears I cry.

So sob and scream I can’t break free
I’m a slave to the weight
counting every calorie…
I’m waiting for the better fate.

When my bones are no longer brittle
when I can’t see my ribs
this was never beautiful
I’m tired of the fibs.
