Animated Ignition

Under the safe protection of a shelter
she is born.
Hungry eyes open
greedily grabbing she screams,
“It’s not enough! I want more!”
She beckons and dances
whispering bittersweet lies, “Be mine. I will love, hold, and caress you forever.”
She grabs greedily at the air until she snatches the prize.
Fondling him, he slowly disintegrates.
Her heart aches.
“Good-bye my dear.”
Alone unsatisfied,
slowly dying and fading in the night
she dissipates.

Todays best new poem was written by Jena Paquin.
