It was a battle right from the start
When we were together or apart
There at first, I would kick and fuss
Sometimes in anger, you would cuss
I broke your heart and you broke mine
Bickering and fighting half of the time
You didn’t want me to drink or smoke
I drank anyway and I would toke
I got caught, you didn’t pay the bail
You left me sitting in that dirty old jail
You should have listened, I heard you say
Thank you mom, happy Mothers Day
